San Ramon, Contra Costa County
Bishop Ranch was a spread of pear and walnut orchards before it became a business park in 1978. Its 585 acres of offices turned San Ramon into one of the main job centers of the East Bay, and tens of thousands of people work there. A shopping and dining complex designed by architect Renzo Piano opened in the middle of the park in 2018.
